Touchscreen Control Surface

Project: Design a touchscreen control surface for the mechanical systems in a Mobile Surveillance Unit. The screen also displays system status.

The control unit runs on a Toughbook running Windows 7 and was developed using Expression Blend and XAML to integrate with a .NET and C++ code base. The application went through several iterations of field testing and refinements before arriving on the simplified device controls in the final version.

The design of the display allows for customized branding. The empty center area is reserved for branding and status messages.

Results: The system is currently operating in all MSUs. The vehicles are currently deployed in remote areas around the world.
